We are seeking a senior-level Business Development Representative (BDR) with deep experience in IT consulting and cybersecurity services sales to help fuel our next stage of growth.
Role Overview
The Senior BDR will play a critical role in driving pipeline growth by identifying, qualifying, and engaging prospective clients for Pearl’s cybersecurity and IT consulting services. This role is ideal for a technical or consultative sales professional who understands cybersecurity solutions, enterprise IT environments, and complex buying cycles.
You will work closely with Pearl’s Managing Consultants, Cybersecurity Leads, and Executive Leadership to convert market opportunities into qualified sales engagements.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Pipeline Generation
- Identify and prospect net-new enterprise and mid-market clients using ZoomInfo, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, and outbound sequencing tools
- Develop and execute targeted outbound campaigns across email, LinkedIn, phone, events, and referrals
- Qualify inbound and outbound leads against Pearl’s Ideal Customer Profile (ICP)
- Schedule and coordinate discovery meetings for senior consultants and leadership
- Own early-stage pipeline creation and lead-to-opportunity conversion
Cybersecurity & Technical Sales Support
- Confidently position Pearl’s cybersecurity consulting services, including:
- Cybersecurity Strategy & Program Development
- Cloud & Infrastructure Security
- Identity & Access Management (IAM)
- GRC, Risk & Compliance
- Security Operations & Incident Readiness
- Translate technical cybersecurity concepts into business-driven value propositions
- Partner with technical consultants to support early-stage solution alignment
CRM, Data & Sales Tools
- Maintain accurate, detailed activity and opportunity data in HubSpot CRM
- Build, manage, and optimize lead lists using ZoomInfo
- Execute account-based prospecting using LinkedIn Sales Navigator
- Track outreach performance, conversion metrics, and pipeline health
- Ensure data hygiene and reporting accuracy
Collaboration & Market Feedback
- Collaborate closely with marketing on campaign follow-up and account-based initiatives
- Provide insights on buyer objections, market trends, and competitive intelligence
- Support sales leadership with pipeline reporting and forecasting inputs
Required Qualifications
Experience
- 5–8+ years of BDR, SDR, or sales experience in an IT consulting, cybersecurity consulting, or professional services firm
- Proven experience selling cybersecurity services or complex technical consulting solutions
- Demonstrated success engaging enterprise and upper mid-market buyers
- Experience supporting long, consultative sales cycles
Sales Technology & Tooling (Required)
- Hands-on experience with:
- ZoomInfo (account research, lead sourcing, list building)
- HubSpot CRM (pipeline management, reporting, activity tracking)
- LinkedIn Sales Navigator (account-based prospecting and relationship mapping)
- Ability to independently manage outbound motion using modern sales tech stacks
Technical & Consulting Acumen
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity domains and enterprise IT environments
- Ability to engage credibly with CISOs, CIOs, CTOs, and security leadership
- Experience working alongside consultants, solution architects, or delivery teams
Location
- Must be based in the Chicago area
- Comfortable with a hybrid model including local meetings and events
Preferred Qualifications
- Background as a technical sales rep, solutions consultant, or pre-sales professional
- Familiarity with cybersecurity platforms (Microsoft Security, Palo Alto, CrowdStrike, IAM, SIEM, Cloud Security)
- Experience selling advisory, transformation, or managed services (not product-only)
- Experience selling into regulated industries
